So sorry for the radio silence, things have been CRAZY busy on my end. There were also some minor supply issues (due to a vendor sending the wrong item on several orders).

But at long last SWZA #4 is ready to ship!

Everything will be mailing out this week and next, so keep an eye on your mailbox! There are ALSO a few people who still either haven't given me an address, OR who still haven't given a working credit card. Check the list in case you're one of them (names partially redacted for privacy):

This final, 6 page ashcan chapter turned out BEAUTIFULLY, and is currently being lettered. Expect the digital DL soon, and you'll be able to order the final chapter in this 3-Part Prequel ashcan series on the next SWZA campaign.

So, I was recently invited to play in a Celebrity Roleplaying game for Able Gamers/Everyone Games, where you are trying to survive a medieval zombie apocalypse...as a handi-capable person. Here it is:

 I'm playing along with actors Aliza Pearl (Blood of the Void) Noah Emlyn (Star Trek Discovery), it was an absolute blast -- and we raised quite a bit of money for charity,

Best of all, this awesome new game is right here on kickstarter, and is almost funded, check out:

As you can see, we had a ton of fun, and dealt with unique challenges in a fantasy world that feels simultaneously fresh and incisive.

Their campaign is running for twelve more days and they are ALMOST funded, so see if you can push them over the edge and get this cool new twist on an old concept.

Hey folks! Very excited to let you know that at long last you can read SWZA #4's digital PDF! A link to it is sitting in your KS messages RIGHT NOW. How's that for service?

The book has some INCREDIBLE moments and is already generating some major buzz!

Durruti #1:

ALSO, my new project from the brand-new Autonomous Collective account JUST LAUNCHED yesterday, and is already one of Kickstarter's "Projects We Love" and is 40% funded. I'd HIGHLY recommend checking it out as not only is this a really exciting comic project there is already a movie in the works, which means you guys can get in on this incredible historical biopic/war epic on the GROUND FLOOR:

Durruti is the most fascinating historical figure that you've never heard of, and in fact as his 1920's anarchist group was called "Los Justicieros" which translates to "The Avengers", Durruti was literally The First Avenger which is exemplified in this variant cover by Durruti artist Jaime Infante:

Finally we have this awesome ensemble anime-style cover from Adam Bryce Thomas of Samurai Jack and Sonic fame:

SWZA is being printed! +First Look: Durruti: Shadow of the People

Hey Folks!

So, GREAT news, SWZA #4 is being printed *AS WE SPEAK* I've seen the proofs, and they're GORGEOUS...as does all the other premiums that are coming with it! I just got the Prince Charming coins in the mail, and they look even better in person:

So long as everything continues to run smoothly your rewards should begin shipping by the end of the month!

Now that that's out of the way, wanna see something AWSEOME?

"Whoa! That looks cool! I wonder what this series is about?"

Well, let me tell you:

Durruti, Shadow of the People is a TRUE STORY and a Biopic/War Epic about real-life hero and anarchist Buenaventura Durruti...it is VERY different than SWZA--but you're going to love it. Think "V for Vendetta" meets "Braveheart" and set during the Spanish Civil war. 

Durruti is like a real-life Robin Hood, crossed with Zorro, armed with a Machine Gun. He's a personal hero of mine, and I've been working on telling this story for TEN YEARS--and now you can get in on the GROUND FLOOR. 

We're gonna be launching TOMORROW so if you can, please click "Notify Me" AND follow the new Autonomous Collective KS account! 

This second account will be used to promote upcoming projects other than SWZA and anything else the Autonomous Collective label puts out!

Dave Pepose's The OZ #2:

Dave has been a HUGE champion of my work, and I wanted to make sure to give everyone a reminder, if you haven't already, to BACK "The OZ #2" as it closes tomorrow. This book is fully funded like eight times over so don't miss your chance to follow this incredible series...which is KINDA like SWZA meets Durruti now that I think of it.

FIRST LOOK: Tarot Set #2 & Prince Charming Coin Reveal + Fol'klor

Hey Folks!

So, first off, as of today all but 13% of you have responded to the backerkit survey. If you haven't PLEASE get on that ASAP -- as I literally cannot send you your rewards if you don't respond and provide a mailing address.

Now that that's out of the way:

SWZA TAROT SET #2 REVEAL

So, this NEWEST Tarot Set incorporates two characters from Reign of The Blood-Covered King, two characters who have only been HINTED at, and one character who has never even been seen. 

All of these are SUPER interesting but I want to highlight TWO that you'll want to pay VERY close attention to, they are:

DEATH:

So, this card is based on a VERY good friend of mine -- a phenomenal artist and champion of the series violinist Johanna Moresco of The Cruxshadows who is a WILDLY talented musician who plays in one of the most exciting and enduring goth bands in the world. 

Being that Sandman's Death is based on Cinamon Hadley and Sandman directly inspired a number of things about SWZA (most notably our tendency to switch artists) this feels just absolutely perfect and now YOU can own the first piece of official SWZA material to contain this depiction of the character.

 The Wheel of Fortune:

This character (who I will not, at present name) will be joining the cast of SWZA in issues #5 and #6 (currently being colored and inked). Her design is based on another friend of mine, actress Mirirari Sithole who at the moment is most famous for her role in Netflix's Black Mirror. But before she was in Black Mirror...she was Rapunzel in the first NYC revival of SWZA, and her performance resulted in the series being nominated for an NYIT Award:

So this is a SUPER deep cut and one of the COOLEST additions to the SWZA universe that I am SUPER excited about! I cannot WAIT for you to see how she fits in to the series (you're gonna love it).

ALSO:

THE PRINCE CHARMING COIN HAS BEEN MINTED!

And it looks GREAT:

This photo of the 1.75 x 1.75 silver-finished coin comes from the manufacturer and is representative of the coins being shipped to me AS WE SPEAK. This coin is a GORGEOUS companion piece to the gold one one featuring Charming's Father, the eponymous Blood-Covered King:

This project is by a newcomer to Kickstarter and Eisner Award Winning Comic Creator Cary Nord! And...yeah it just hits absolutely ALL my buttons for obvious reason. It just launched yesterday, is already funded and I WILL be talking about it again soon. In the meantime what are you waiting for? Go grab it!

Those of you following our Reign of the Blood-Covered King prequel series will recognize SWZA's own resident vegan, the Rübezahl-inspired "Herrold Von Berge". The Hermit is one of SWZA Editor Andrea Molinari's favorite cards, and I can't think of a better character to represent this archetype than our series "Bean Wizard".
